So I got a chance to check out Wiz Khalifa's "Black & Yellow" yesterday and was really digging the cinematography. More than that, though, I was really digging the way the filmmaker took very ordinary events (eating eggs from styrofoam plates for breakfast) and crafted them into beautifully cinematic moments. One of the big treats for me when watching films shot on location (and music videos for that matter) are the snippets of ordinary life that occur in between the main action. I love observing the candid moments as they are largely unscripted and true. The people that populate the background aren't the result of some pretentious auditioning and casting process... they just "are".
